Motivate Yourself to Get Moving This Weekend
There are lots of reasons right now to feel demotivated, mentally and physically drained and no longer have the energy to make the decision to exercise. We are entering a long weekend which we may be eating turkey over zoom, the air has a chill in it which makes us remember that winter is on its way and we are tired of this global pandemic. All of these things are true and yet we know that moving our bodies will make us stronger, have more energy and feel more positive.
How do you get the motivation to exercise when it is the last thing you feel like doing?
1. Set an intention for this weekend:
“I plan to move my body everyday this weekend because I know it will feel good when I am done and it is what my body and mind need right now”
2. Create a plan:
Today: I will walk for 20-30 minutes choosing a different route than I normally go and taking breaks if I need them
Tomorrow: Do one of the recorded Vintage Fitness classes:
3. Plan for barriers:
- What are you going to do if it rains all weekend?
- What are you going to do if you wake up with joint pain?
- What are you going to do if you have a poor sleep?
4. Get support:
