The Benefits of Fitness Goals for Seniors
What’s your ‘why’?
At Vintage Fitness, we have found that the most powerful way to motivate yourself to start or restart an exercise regime is to set exciting goals for yourself.
Ask yourself the question: What would make my life infinitely better if I could achieve it?
Start with small but measurable goals that are exciting for you. These could be as simple as walking without an assisted device again, hiking to your favourite waterfall, or learning a fun new activity you have always wanted to try.
It’s important that your goal lights you up a bit. You may have to push past some self doubt. Remember that our bodies are extremely adaptable to exercise at any age, and if you put in the time, you will feel better, build strength and stamina, and in almost all cases surpass your own expectations.
Consistency over time is not easy, and it will take repeated effort, which can sometimes feel tedious. We all have to get used to doing some of the same exercises over and over for the win. It can be very helpful to have additional accountability, expertise, guidance, support and motivation on your journey.
What you will find is that once you achieve that first goal, you will set your sights on something even more exciting for you: keeping up with your grandkids, traveling to exotic lands, living to 100 years old! You have one life to live. We are talking about quality of life here.
We want you to feel energized, content, strong, peaceful, balanced, vital, and well in mind and body.
Only you know what will provide you with the motivation to begin. From there we have your back, so you can keep going and going and going…
