Pain in the neck
Good afternoon.. I hope that you are able to spend some time outside on this sunny day in Toronto. One of the most common areas of pain for Vintage Fitness clients and for me is the neck area and upper back. The most common reasons for this include poor posture (chin forward too far), past injuries and over-training the chest and under-training the back.
The stretch that I like most for the neck is shown in the picture:
Tips:
- Relax your shoulders
- Find your “sweet spot” where you tend to hold your tension
- If it hurts you are pulling too hard with the hand that is on your head
- Do this stretch 3 times everyday
If you have any questions about stretching or older adult exercise drop me a note erin@vitnagefitness.ca.
